Ghorepani Sunrise Trekking is also popularly known as the ‘Ghorepani Poonhill trekking’ & this is one splendid trek known for its exclusive Himalayan views in Nepal. The trek is highly popular among the soft trekking trails in the Annapurna region. This trek has the best viewpoints on Poon Hill where the scenery is simply amazing. The views of snow-capped mountains Dhaulagiri and Annapurna 1 range are best viewed from this point. The panoramic Himalayan peaks of Manaslu & the Dhaulagiri ranges are just wonderful to behold with Sunrise and Sunset which makes this outing the main highlights of this trip. During the spring season, the forest is covered with colorful Rhododendrons that grow wild in the forest of this area. Poon hill is famous for its landscaped trekking trails. This particular area is inhabited by the Poon community (Magars) who make up most of the villages hereabouts. Most of the locals here depend on Tourism for survival & most of the Hotels and shops hereabouts are privately run by families. The locals at Poonhill follow the Buddhist religion. The Poonhill trek trail begins from Pokhara and the real trek starts from Beni. You can also hop a short flight or opt for a tourist bus drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara. Your vehicle takes you to Nayapul & then continues to Beni from there. Your trekking goes on up to Ghorepani, via Tikhedhunga or Shikha. From Pokhara it’s a scenic 6-7 hours drive back to Kathmandu or you can spend more time in Pokhara to enjoy some thrilling sport activities. Day 01.Arrive at Kathmandu airport (1345meters):

You will just find it wonderful flying into Kathmandu on a day that’s crystal clear. The views of snow-capped mountain peaks sprawling down below you are almost ecstatic, beginning a whole connection of memorable experiences that stay with you for a real long time. An escort and driver from our office will meet you at the airport and escort you to your hotel. The representative will help you check into your reserved hotel. At the hotel, you will be oriented about your daily activities. It’s your first overnight in the city of temples, the most in the world. B.B

Day 02: Drive/Fly to Pokhara by Private Vehicle 5hrs driving or Fly to Pokhara (20 minutes), Look around round Pokhara Overnight at hotel or Resort

We drive along the Trisuli and Marshyangdi River to reach Pokhara; this is a real scenic drive where we will get to see the beautiful river as we drive by its banks & view Ganesh Himal and Mt. Manaslu right from the comfortable seats of your bus. Pokhara is a virtual tourists’ paradise. This city is full of natural as well as cultural heritage sites that include: lakes, caves, temples of Buddhist and Hindus, all in the backdrops of the beautiful mountains that include the lovely fishtail peak. After 6 hours of driving; we will arrive in Pokhara, this wonderful ‘City of Lakes’, which amazes you at every corner of your tour. Overnight at Hotel B.B

Day 03: Drive an hour to Nayapul and start walking up to Tikhedunga, Overnight at a guest house

Our exciting trek really starts at Nayapul after a 1-hour drive in a private vehicle from Pokhara. After a brief 15-minute hike as we cling to the banks of the Modi Khola, we reach Birethanti (1,015m) a pretty big village with many shops and teahouses. From there, the trail carries on through the lively village and follows the north bank of the Bhurungdi Khola. The trail then climbs steadily up the side of the valley to Hille at 1,495m and after a short climb, we reach Tikhedunga at 1,570m. The day’s walk is somewhat short and easy, a lead up to the trekking experience that comes in the Annapurna region. Overnight at a guesthouse

Day 04: Trek to Ghorepani, (2800meters) 5-6 hrs, overnight at guest house

From Tikhedunga, we plod further along steep trails that are typical on our way to Ghorepani. Mother Nature gives us exotic sights of regal snow-capped mountain peaks, lush green vegetation and rich plant life that lie in abundance before us as we walk the trails. We climb through rhododendron forest to Deurali [3100m] and reach a hamlet and farmed fields. We continue hiking for 3 hours and finally we will find ourselves in the pretty village of Ghorepani. Ghorepani also houses lodges to provide food and accommodation to travelers.

Day 05: Trek to Tadapani, (2650meters) 5-6hrs, overnight at guest house

We descend further along the trail from Ghorepani; showcasing rich rhododendron forests, wonderful cascading gleaming mountain streams and other supernatural vistas of nature. After continuously climbing for 3 hours, we step on the territory of Tadapani at an altitude of 2650 meters. Tadapani offers the most brilliant mountain views of the overpowering peaks of Annapurna South. [Walk approx 3 hours] we then bunk out for the night in our guest house

Day 06: Trek to Ghandruk, 1940m 3hrs, overnight at hotel

From Tadapani the trail descends through dense forests to Ghandruk, a village of Gurung people, one of the ethnic groups of Nepal. They have their own dialect, culture, costume, and lifestyles. Ghandruk is also home to many Gurkha soldiers. It is a famous destination for trekkers as it is known for its gracious mountain views and also because it's within easy reach from Pokhara and Kathmandu. We have the rest of the afternoon to visit the Annapurna Conservation Office, museums and explore the colorful friendly village. Overnight at a guesthouse

Day 07: Trek to Nayapul 1070m, 4 hrs and Drive to Pokhara, Overnight at hotel or Resort

After enjoying the awesome sights of Dhaulagiri, Tukuche Peak and other Himalayan giants from the popular vantage point of Poon Hill [3195m], we leave Ghandruk and hike down to Nayapul. We further descend towards Birethanti. Birethanti lies stretched beside the Modi River and are a resourceful town. On our trails of stone steps, we pass through dense forest and a small village of Ulleri. From Ulleri, a very steep section [with 3767 steps!] leads down to Hille on the Bhurungdi Khola. Forty minutes beyond Birethanti, we come to the main road. From here we can easily access any means of transportation to drive to Pokhara. In the evening, we are free to wander by the serene lakes of Pokhara.

Day 08: Sightseeing around Pokhara. Overnight at hotel

After b/fast, we set out for a sightseeing tour which will include Devi’s fall, Gupteswor caves, the Tibetan refugee camp, peace stupa & if possible, a drive down to Sarangkot. In the late afternoon, we also enjoy a boat ride on the lovely Fewa Lake before we retire for the day. In the evening, we can stroll down the walks of lakeside & shop for some souvenirs before we have supper & go to bed at our hotel. Overnight Pokhara

Day 09: Drive /fly back to Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel

We get set for a 6-7 hours scenic drive to Kathmandu or if there’s urgency, we can hop a 30 minutes flight to Kathmandu, the option is yours to decide; upon arrival in Kathmandu, we will be escorted into our hotel. We either spend the day leisurely or perhaps catch up on some last minute shopping or explore any sights we missed during our first day in Kathmandu. Day 10: Leisure day in Kathmandu Overnight at hotel.

This is entirely your day to do your own things; perhaps you can do some last minute shopping for the loved ones at home or pen out a few post cards to the family telling them about the wonders of your trip. Overnight at your hotel

Day 11: Transfer to international airport for your final flight departure.

Our office team will have a vehicle on standby to take you to the airport for your flight home. If you prefer to stay longer, you can go for short tours that could be a game drive at National parks, or wild water rafting, maybe a Tibet tour, or even a thrilling mountain bike ride through some of Nepal’s urban trails etc.

We will be staying same like at 3Star hotel in Kathmandu and in Pokhara and teahouses during the trek. All accommodations are on twin-shared basis. Single supplement will be served on request and will cost an additional USD 250. Although single rooms are readily available in Kathmandu and the trekking regions at lower elevation, it might be difficult to find them at higher elevations.


During our Annapurna Base Camp Trek, we can enjoy authentic Nepalese food as well the more common international cuisine (Tibetan, Continental, Italian, Indian, etc.). Breakfast and dinner will be served from the tea-houses or from a lodge menu where we spend the night whereas lunch will be served on the way to the next destination. All meals will be provided during trekking while only breakfast will be available while in Kathmandu and Pokhara. There will also be welcome and farewell dinners for guests.
