Annapurna Base Camp trekking

annapurna base cmp trek

Annapurna Base Camp trekking comes under different connotations – the trek is also known as Annapurna Sanctuary Trek and some call it the south Annapurna base camp as well. This Trek is short of the bowl amphitheater trek. This is said so because when you are standing at base camp valley you are literally surrounded by mountains; the lovely sunrise early in the morning and the sunsets at dusk every evening are just something to behold & remember. The Trip to Annapurna Base Camp is Right at the bottom of south Annapurna. One of the biggest mountains stand right In front of the base camp, & this is Annapurna I. It is the 10th highest mountain in the world and looks like a solid wall of rock and ice that forms the south face of Annapurna as you view it from the Sanctuary.

As we plod on into the green, terraced hills we wander through old, mossy Rhododendron forests to reach the cooler Buddhist and animistic middle hills, where chortens and prayer flags send prayers out to the gods for the departed and the Gurung and Magar inhabitants look more Tibetan than Nepali hereabouts…

Treks to Annapurna Base Camp begins with a short flight or drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara and the trail continues with drive to Birethanti, passes through Poon village Ghorepani, the Gurung villages Ghandruk, Chhomrong and fishtail base camp along the bank of Modi Khola/ River. Finally, we reach the final objective of Annapurna base camp. After making excursion around, you will back by descending down to Jhinudanda. Here is another natural Hot spring; you can relax in this hot pool. Nepal Great Himalaya offers you budget trips to Annapurna. Similarly, you continue to Pokhara by car/ bus/ van via Dhampus Phedi. After Pokhara you can go to Chitwan National park or return to Kathmandu. If want to know more details, please feel free to contact us at: nepalhimalayaway@gmail.com
